There you are, standing in the supermarket isle, with rows and rows of toothpaste. There is blue toothpaste, red toothpaste, green toothpaste, toothpaste with sparkles, toothpaste with three different colors and even plain white toothpaste. Now, which flavor should you choose? Which Brand should you choose? Do you want the typical toothpaste tube or do you want the cool stand up straight pump dispenser? The combination of choices are endless and at times overwhelming! Keep in mind, when choosing a toothpaste there are a few basic things that you should check off the list, to ensure you are getting the right kind. Everything else is mere personal choice.

When choosing the right toothpaste for you, it is smart to first speak with your dentist, to make sure you do not have any conditions that would require certain/special types of toothpaste (i.e gum disease, sensitive teeth). Generally speaking though, the first two things you should always look for in a toothpaste would be that it contains flouride and that it has the ADA (American Dental Association) seal of approval. This ensures that the toothpaste has been tested for safety and effectiveness.

YAY! You have done it! You have picked the toothpaste that best fits you and your family.
